Every year, Hull Truck Theatre raises money to ensure that local people in need are able to enjoy a wonderfully festive, magical theatre experience.

To those facing financial hardship, the possibility of visiting the theatre at Christmas is often out of reach. However, with the money raised by Give the Gift of Theatre, you can spread seasonal cheer by gifting them an unforgettable trip to the theatre.

With new opportunities for school children and subsidised tickets for community groups, your donation means that families can experience the magic of live theatre together, perhaps for the very first time. Special recordings of our main stage show are also shared with care homes in Hull and East Yorkshire, enabling residents to re-live a festive tradition. Together, we keep vital engagement with arts and culture alive and uplift the people of our city.

Thanks to all those who donated in 2023. With the funds raised we were able to offer over 1,500 people the chance to see a Hull Truck Theatre production, breaking down the barriers that prevent our community from experiencing shows which make the festive time of year just that bit more magical.

We will be raising money later this year to again welcome people into our home for an extra special 2024.
