Hull Truck Apprentice Blog, Week 1

Hull Truck Apprentice Blog, Week 1

Hi all! We’re Sam and Draya, 2/4 of Hull Truck’s new 2016 apprentices, and we’ll be using this blog to document our experiences working here throughout the next year.

Though this blog will be used mostly by us, sometimes we might have appearances from Harry and James, the other new apprentices based in the Technical area.

I’m Draya, and I’m the Live Events and Box Office apprentice. I have a background in Interactive Media and Customer Service, and I became interested in this apprenticeship position for the opportunity to work Front of House and to get involved in some Marketing also.

I’m Sam, the Marketing and Communications apprentice. I have previously studied Fine Art and English Language/Literature. I applied for this apprenticeship position as I missed working in the creative sector, and I have always been interested in working in Marketing.

We have all been working in the theatre for almost a month, and now that our Christmas show Sleeping Beauty is over, we’re looking forward to promoting our next co-production, Martha, Josie and the Chinese Elvis, as well as everything else we’re showcasing here in 2016. As we are both working in different sectors, hopefully we’ll be able to give you a varied perspective of what goes on ‘behind the scenes’ at Hull Truck Theatre.

Thanks for reading, and we’ll see you again next week!

 Sam & Draya :)
