Play in a Week: Stories Around the Campfire (Age 11-18)

It’s Friday evening, 9pm, and a group of young people head into the forest for an evening round the campfire. Singing songs, playing games and telling spooky stories is all to be expected, but, with a group of young people out in the forest alone… you never know when something might go wrong…

Over the week you will develop your skills as a theatre maker, create interesting characters and dialogue, learn key skills of acting, and perform your brand-new play to an audience of parents, families and friends!

This project is for any young person aged 11-18, who will have just finished school years 7-13.

The project takes place Monday 4th August to Friday 8th August 2025, 9am – 3.30pm, every day at Hull Truck Theatre.

There will be a sharing on Friday 8 Aug, 3pm that parents will be invited to come and watch.

We are committed to the idea that finances shouldn’t be a barrier to participation, please get in touch if you would like to discuss reduced prices or bursary places. Contact engagement@hulltruck.co.uk to discuss.

You can sign up and pay online, by calling our box office on 01482 323 638 or come into the theatre and book in person.

Please arrive 10 minutes early on the first day so that we can fill in emergency information and contact forms. You will need to bring a packed lunch and water bottle each day.

If you have any questions, please contact our Creative Learning team on engagement@hulltruck.co.uk or call us on 01482 488209.
