Taking place on our first floor, representatives attended from Rollits, For Entrepreneurs Only, PDR Construction, Humberside Airport, Alessandro Caruso Architecture and Unite the Union, as well as Natasha Barley, Director of our partner organisation, Hull Children’s University.
Whilst they were here, we took the opportunity to chat to them about their businesses and why they chose to become a Spotlight Partner. In this interview we speak to Pat Coyle, Client Relations Director at Rollits LLP.
Hi, Pat. First off, can you tell us a bit about the company?
Operating for over 175 years, Rollits has always been located in Hull’s historic Old Town. In fact, our offices over the decades have all been within a half-mile radius since being founded in 1841 by solicitor John Rollit, and today you can find us in Citadel House on the High Street. You could say we are truly “rooted in Hull”.
We’re one of Yorkshire’s leading law firms, consistently ranking highly in two independent law directories, The UK Legal 500 and Chambers UK. With over sixty lawyers based across two sites in Hull and York, we work for a range of clients, from multinational private companies to small charitable organisations, private individuals and family trusts.
Why did Rollits decide to become a Spotlight Partner?
Our two organisations share the same focus of improving the local community and the city’s national status, which is why Rollits has a long history of supporting Hull Truck Theatre.
Culture and business work well together, so Rollits has a heritage of supporting a range of cultural organisations which contribute to the region’s artistic programme, especially during Hull UK City of Culture 2017.
We’ve seen Hull Truck Theatre go through multiple developments over the years, going way back to when it was based down Spring Street. We’ve been involved with the theatre for a long time and continue to back its community engagement programme in our role as a Spotlight Partner.
