Taking place on our first floor, representatives attended from Rollits, For Entrepreneurs Only, PDR Construction, Humberside Airport, Alessandro Caruso Architecture and Unite the Union, as well as Natasha Barley, Director of our partner organisation, Hull Children’s University.
Whilst they were here, we took the opportunity to chat to them about their businesses and why they chose to become a Spotlight Partner. In this interview we speak to Darren Kilvington, Estimating Director at PDR Construction.
Hi, Darren. First off, can you tell us a bit about the company?
PDR Construction is based in Hessle and also has a London office, as we work on projects nationwide.
We’re a local employer with around forty staff in East Yorkshire, plus another forty across the UK. Our services cover the residential, office, retail, health, education, industrial, hotel and leisure sectors, and the relationships we’ve built with customers stretch over two decades.
We are a trusted, privately owned, medium-sized contractor, continually demonstrating our ability to deliver quality with a commercial edge that has previously been missing from our sector. This is our 25th year and we’re still a family business. During this time, we’ve built out projects in excess of £0.6 billion.
Why did PDR Construction decide to become a Spotlight Partner?
Our Managing Director, Paul Dransfield, has always had an interest in the arts. Hull Truck Theatre is a high-profile venue that plays a large role in improving wellbeing and encouraging people to develop their creative skill set.
As a Spotlight Partner, we benefit from increasing our brand’s reach through a regular feature in the season brochures, helping us to access a broader spectrum of people across the region. We’ve also been especially impressed with Hull Truck Theatre’s collaboration with Hull Independent Cinema, which greatly increases the accessibility of thought-provoking movies that people may otherwise not come across.
Whilst our sponsorship greatly supports the theatre and the local community, we appreciate the value that it adds to our corporate social responsibility activities, as well as the knowledge that we’re helping a strong cultural brand to thrive.
