Meet our Spotlight Partners: Alessandro Caruso Architecture

We recently held a coffee and cake afternoon for our Spotlight Partners, who generously donate £950 +VAT or more a year to support our programme of cutting-edge drama and inclusive community engagement.

Taking place on our first floor, representatives attended from Rollits, For Entrepreneurs Only, PDR Construction, Humberside Airport, Alessandro Caruso Architecture and Unite the Union, as well as Natasha Barley, Director of our partner organisation, Hull Children’s University.

Whilst they were here, we took the opportunity to chat to them about their businesses and why they chose to become a Spotlight Partner. In this interview we speak to Alex Caruso, a co-founder of Alessandro Caruso Architecture.

Hi, Alex. First off, can you tell us a bit about your company?

We’re an award-winning architecture and interior design practice based in Beverley, designing properties around the UK. About 75% of our work is in the healthcare sector, with the rest spread across commercial sites, schools and one-off residential projects. These can range from extensions and refurbishments, to urban regeneration and interior design.

Our company has grown year on year, as we always aim to deliver the highest quality for every customer. Attention to detail is a top priority from inception to completion, which ties in with our mission of promoting architecture as a value that improves everyday life.

Why did you decide to become a Spotlight Partner?

We’ve been associated with Hull Truck Theatre for many years and regularly come to see shows. We enjoy the theatre’s familiar environment and its connection with the public, which plays a large role in developing local talent.

The theatre is closely linked to local schools, similar to our practice. Spotlight offers us the opportunity to help underprivileged children to see shows, which improves accessibility to the arts and fuels creativity in the city.

We visit Hull Truck Theatre for social occasions and appreciate its contributions to the community, which achieve a wider reach thanks to Spotlight.

You can find out more about Alessandro Caruso Architecture at and follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
