This Christmas we are excited to invite you to join us at Hull Truck Theatre for Wind in The Willows, an enchanting stage adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s much-loved classic novel that will celebrate friendship, loyalty and the true meaning of home. This classic family favourite will be live on stage from Fri 28 Nov 2026 – Sun 3 Jan 2027, with tickets now on sale – including some enticing Early Bird offers. Poop-poop!

This festive season, join Mole, Ratty, Badger and Toad on an exciting, fun-filled whirlwind adventure that will be expertly directed by Hull Truck Theatre’s Artistic Director Mark Babych. Filled with brand new music, clever costumes and plenty of heart, this enchanting -loved classic novel will celebrate friendship, loyalty and the true meaning of home.

Mark Babych, Artistic Director at Hull Truck Theatre, said:

“I am thrilled to be directing this adaptation of Wind in The Willows’ an all-round classic family favourite, taking audiences on an exciting, fun-filled whirlwind adventure.  Celebrating another year of support from Hull Trains, the production will make the perfect alternative to pantomime over the holidays, magically captivating audiences of all ages during the festive season with brand new music, clever costumes and plenty of heart.”

Fresh out of winter hibernation, curious Mole steps outside to explore the world and soon meets new friend Ratty, who shows them the joys of life on the riverbank. However, their peaceful days don’t last long! Toad, full of wild ideas and unstoppable energy, throws himself into a brand-new craze that quickly causes chaos for everyone.

When Toad goes too far and Toad Hall is put at risk, the friends must team up with wise and reliable Badger. Together, they bravely enter the Wild Wood and plan a daring rescue to save Toad before Christmas arrives.

Hull Trains are once again teaming up with Hull Truck Theatre for the seventh Christmas running, and we can’t wait to create another magical live theatre experience with their support.

Tickets are now on sale, priced between £35 - £11 with concessions available for Standard and Peak performances.  

An Early Bird offer of ‘£3 off all tickets’ (exec PWYC performance), will run until midnight, 31 August. A special ‘Family & Friends’ ticket (x4 tickets for £110) will be available until midnight 26 Nov. Group discount of -10% off bookings of 6+ people are also available. There are also a range of access performances available throughout the duration of the run, including the return of the Baby Friendly performance (suitable for caregivers of babies under 18 months) – ideal for those who want to share a first festive experience with their families and friends.
