Hull Truck Theatre are teaming up with Stephen Joseph Theatre & York Theatre Royal to host regional open auditions

Hull Truck Theatre are teaming up with Stephen Joseph Theatre & York Theatre Royal to host open workshop auditions with the intention of meeting Yorkshire based actors.

This is the second time that the venues have collaborated to meet local actors following a successful day in York last month. This time we are hosting workshop auditions so we can spend more time getting to know auditionees.

Open auditions are not designed with a particular production or role in mind but are an opportunity for local actors to meet directors in order to be considered for future opportunities.

This is an opportunity for actors who have a base in Yorkshire and applicants must be aged 18+.

Auditions will take place on Saturday 11 May in two sessions 10am – 1pm & 2pm – 5pm during Hull Truck Theatre’s Grow Festival.

To apply

Please send your CV/Spotlight link to casting@hulltruck.co.uk by 5pm Friday 3rd May.

Please include a short introduction to you and your work and answer the following question:

What do you need in the rehearsal room for you to be at the top of your game?

Hull Truck Theatre has an inclusive casting policy and therefore encourage submissions from those who identify as BAME or disabled.

Places are limited so we will prioritise actors we have not seen before.

You will need to be available for a 3-hour session in either the morning or afternoon on Saturday 11 May. Please indicate if you have a preference on which slot.

To prepare

Actors will be asked to prepare a 2-minute monologue of their choosing to share with the panel. Loose/comfortable clothing is recommended for creative & physical sessions.

Further information will be sent to those that are shortlisted.

We are committed to providing a response to everyone that applies. We are anticipating a high volume of interest in this opportunity and therefore we are unable to provide feedback on unsuccessful applications on this occasion.

We will, however, keep everyone’s details on our database to inform you of future opportunities as they arise. Please consider joining our Grow Artist Network to hear more about ways you can engage with the theatre and our partners.
