Hull Truck Theatre prides itself on being a fully accessible venue, offering a range of assisted performances throughout the year, including audio described and captioned.
This page will help explain all the facilities available at Hull Truck Theatre and should help you plan your visit.
Parking is available next door at St Stephen's Shopping Centre multi-storey car park, accessible via Portland Place off Ferensway.
Upon entering the car park, take a ticket from the machine and drive through the barrier. Stay on Level 2, where possible, and drive to the back of the car park towards the entrance to the Holiday Inn Express. You will see a sign for Hull Truck Theatre, by which there is direct lift access to the square approx. 50m from the entrance of the Theatre.
There are five disabled parking bays close to the lift, on Level 2 (two on Level 3), which are charged at the normal daily rate, or just £1 after 6pm – 11.59pm.
Alternatively, there are five disabled parking bays on Portland Street, by the entrance to the multi-storey car park, which are free for blue badge holders. These spaces are to the rear of the theatre, approx. 150m from the main entrance and have no time limit.
Drop Off Point
There is a drop off and collection point 20 meters from the main theatre entrance on Ferensway.
Front of House staff are trained as guides for visually impaired patrons and are always happy to assist.
Safe Place Scheme
Hull Truck Theatre are proud to be part of the Safe Place Scheme, supported by Humberside Police.
The scheme is designed to help those who have learning disabilities or difficulties, are living with dementia or are vulnerable, to feel safe whilst out and about.
‘Safe Places’ can be identified by a sticker in the window and if you are lost, scared, feeling vulnerable or confused we encourage you to come in to the theatre so we can help you.
We are proud to be a breastfeeding friendly organisation as part of the Breastfeeding Friendly Award Scheme. Parents are welcome to breastfeed, bottle feed or express on the premises, and Hull Truck Theatre have been specially trained to offer parents any support they may need. Read our breastfeeding policy here.
Infant Feeding Mornings
We host regular Infant Feeding Mornings, supported by City Health Partnership and NHS iBreastfeed, running from 10am till 12pm on the first Saturday of every month. These are free drop-in sessions for parents-to-be and new parents to meet up with other families. Breastfeeding support staff from the Goodwin Volunteer Doula and Breastfeeding Peer Support Project are present to offer advice on infant and complementary feeding, as well as the early stages of parenthood.
Our next Infant Feeding Mornings will take place on:
Saturday 7 October 2017
Saturday 4 November 2017
Saturday 2 December 2017
