Early 1900s | 90 mins | PG | Silent film with live music accompaniment
Yorkshire Silent Film Festival is the UK’s largest celebration of live-scored silent film, taking place every May in cinemas, theatres and community venues across the region. This year, the festival visits Hull Truck with three superb screenings, each accompanied with live music.
Hosted by Yorkshire’s own Professor Vanessa, join us for an afternoon of spectacular and remarkable entertainments celebrating the 250th anniversary of Circus. Featuring early films of dancing pigs, circus performers, balancing wonders and other amazing sights, this extravagant musical showcase of late-Victorian and Edwardian performance is a unique chance to see some of the most unusual and fascinating early films from archives around the world.
Special thanks to Library of Congress, Lobster Films and the National Fairground and Circus Archive.
