We've been shortlisted in the Cultural Venue of the Year category at the Hull Lifestyle Awards. Voting is open until Monday 15 May.

We're proud to have been shortlisted for a Hull Lifestyle Award. Hull Truck Theatre was announced as a finalist in the Cultural Attraction of the Year category at an event held at the Humber Street Gallery.

The general public will decide the winners, which will be announced at a gala dinner at the KCOM stadium on Thursday June 8. Public voting is now open via and will close at midnight on Monday 15 May.

The Hull Lifestyle Awards have been set up this year as an extension of the hugely successful London Lifestyle Awards, which have been running since 2010. The awards celebrate the very best in cultural venues, restaurants, bars, and other organisations who improve the leisure offer in the city and the surrounding areas.

The Hull Lifestyle Awards is a celebration of everything that makes Hull a brilliant place to live and work. We’re honoured to have been shortlisted in the Cultural Attraction of the Year Category alongside some of the city’s very best venues. Everyone at Hull Truck Theatre has worked so hard in the planning and delivery of our Year of Exceptional Drama for 2017 and it’s fantastic that a national awards body has recognised that. I hope everyone will take a few minutes to celebrate Hull’s flourishing leisure industry by voting in this year’s awards.

Janthi Mills-Ward, Executive Director at Hull Truck Theatre

I am so delighted that we are to host the first Hull Lifestyle Awards. There are so many great lifestyle businesses and organisations in Hull that deserve recognition and love from the Hull public and visitors to the city. Hull Truck Theatre has for a long time been a such an important part of Hull - wherever I travel in the country people know and talk about the theatre. I am delighted that they have made the shortlist for the 2017 awards which I believe is so deserved, and I hope the Hull public vote in their thousands.
