A royal family gather for Christmas. Father broadcasts his seasonal message. He's decided to give up work and to set about dividing his kingdom. The scene is set for one heck of a family break-up.This new version of King Lear is brought to life for schools and families.
A thrilling and accessible introduction to one of thegreatest plays ever written. And it's only 75 minutes long! The world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Company is making its debut at Hull Truck Theatre, as the start of a 3-year partnership with Hull Truck Theatre and local schools.
Together we aim to blow away some of the myths about Shakespeare and help all of us - young and old - understand and enjoy his fantastic plays. You don't have to be young to enjoy Tim Crouch's brilliant adaptation of King Lear - this is world-class theatre for everyone.
