Schools Partnership Scheme
Become a partner school and discover ways in which creativity can improve pupils’ happiness, confidence, achievement, aspiration and employability skills.
As a partner school you will enjoy a year-long programme of workshops, tours and discounted tickets, support with Artsmark and Arts Award and an opportunity to build a long term relationship with Hull Truck Theatre.
Our Engagement and Learning Team offer bespoke workshops, provide e-resources and host theatre tours alongside many of our Hull Truck Theatre productions. They are linked to the curriculum and provide an insight into our theatre making process. Workshops can take place before or after a show, either at the theatre or school.
Our resource packs have been designed to complement an educational visit to one of our productions. They are ideal for teachers looking to inspire and educate students through drama, providing practical materials to develop critical thinking and performance skills to aid creative learning.
The video below is a 12 minute interview with Director Mark Babych about the creation and vision behind this year's Christmas family adventure, A Christmas Treasure Island.
RSC Dream Team 2016
As part of an ongoing partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company and St Mary’s College Hull, Hull Truck Theatre is supporting schools to engage with an exciting new project – Dream Team 2016.
Alongside the RSC’s special UK-wide tour of A Midsummer Night's Dream: A Play for the Nation, they are inviting every UK school to join the RSC Dream Team 2016 by working on A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Schools in Hull and the surrounding area have the unique opportunity to access this scheme with additional CPD for teachers, including practical workshops which equip teachers across all Key Stages with the skills and confidence to get Shakespeare up on its feet as well as workshops on directing young actors and the technical aspects of staging a play. In June 2016 Hull students will have the opportunity to perform in Hull Truck Theatre’s main auditorium and to transfer the performance to the Stratford-upon-Avon festival.

After Dream Team 2016 we will be launching a new Associate Schools Scheme.

As part of our Inclusion Programme we work weekly with pupils from Ganton Special School in Hull to increase communication, language and theatrical skills and explore personal stories. The same group of pupils work with us for a full academic year and enjoy coming to the theatre for workshops and meeting FOH and café bar staff. Participants develop their focus and confidence to share their work.
