If you want to get involved with new writing at Hull Truck but aren't sure what it is you need, or if you are a theatre-maker with an idea that you want to explore, here are some other resources that we offer that may be of use or interest to you:
- Script exploration
For the members of our writers groups, these regular workshops - typically taking place over half a day or a full day - gives the writer the chance to work with a director and actors to explore a current draft of their new play, without the pressure of a performance for the public. - One-to-one script surgeries
Sometimes it's helpful for a playwright to get together with an experienced dramaturge for a focussed meeting (or series of meetings) to help develop a particular script, or their work more generally. This is offered to all members of our writing groups; if you're not a member of the groups, get in touch and we'll see what we can do to help. - Devised/non writer-led work
There has always been an element of Hull Truck's work which puts the performance at the centre of the creative experience; it was part of our founding philosophy. We are therefore keen - as well as nurturing new writing - to support and develop work by all types of artists and theatre-makers.
