Workshops

Inter@ct run a variety of workshops/projects with schools, both here at the theatre or in school. Projects are undertaken throughout all key stages and FE and HE levels.

The Inter@ct team are flexible and open to new and exciting challenges. From ten-week projects to half-day workshops, the Inter@ct team can create bespoke work, which can be based around specific skills or themes.

Key Stage Workshops

Key Stage 2: Half day visit

The two hour session will include a guided tour of the building and a workshop introducing students to basic drama skills through games and exercises.


Key Stage 3: Half day visit

Students will be offered ways of approaching a John Godber text and through practical exploration will be encouraged to develop an understanding of character and plot and to engage with a text for performance.

Key Stage 4 GCSE: Half day visit

Students will experience a practical sessions on ‘stylised theatre performance'. They will focus on playing style, language, character and physicality in relation to a John Godber text.

A Level:

Students will explore the unique relationship between actor, audience and text and examine how this relationship shapes the language and dramatic structure of plays. It will include an exploration of ‘stylised theatre performance' used in relation to Bouncers, Teechers and Shakers.

All workshops will include a tour around the building and a question and answer session.

Maximum number of students per session: 30

Remember, workshops can also be tailor-made to meet any dramatic needs or specifications.

Full day workshops are also available.

Schools Tours
Annually, Inter@ct tour schools across the region with a shortened version of a classic text. Usually performed by three professional actor/facilitators, the play is followed by an in depth workshop exploring themes and issues, relating to text or performance technique.
