Hull Truck Youth Theatre gives young people the opportunity to experience the excitement, creativity and enjoyment that go hand in hand with drama and make lasting friendships in the process. Youth Theatre workshops are open to anybody aged 7-21 years and interested in drama, acting and the theatre. We run 10 workshops per term at a cost of £25, payable at the start of each term.
Workshops take place on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday during the day throughout term-time. These sessions look at all aspects of theatre including mask work, street theatre, improvisation, movement, script work, vocal work, multi-characters, stagecraft and technique, all aimed at boosting confidence, social skills, creativity, imagination, team building... the list goes on!
Productions
Our Youth Theatre perform two professionally-supported productions at Hull Truck Theatre each year, with past shows including Kes and Marat/Sade and this year's productions are Quadrophenia and Alice in Wonderland.
These are professional shows performed to sellout audiences and are always a huge success! Performing in one of these shows is by no means easy, but it is certainly rewarding, heaps of fun and a spectacular start to your stage career!
