The Creative Learning team is holding Inset Training Sessions for both Primary and Secondary School Teachers.
Secondary Teacher Training Day
A practical full day workshop examining the influences that have coloured John's early plays (Bouncers, Teechers, Shakers) for example; German Expressionism, Greek Theatre, Berkoff.
The Workshop willl also look at 'Stylised Theatre' and all of its composite parts; an intrinsic look at John Godber's writing style.
"Excellent grounding on how to approach Godber with AS Theatre Studies students."
"Very clear, practical advice and information delivered with pace and enthusiasm."
"Excellent balance of practical demonstration and plenty of opportunity to take notes."
Primary Teaching Training Day
In their quest to introduce more kinaesthetic techniques into their classrooms, many teachers toy with the idea of using "some kind of drama". Unfortunately, many of them rarely go any further than that because they lack awareness of the various dramatic techniques available. This workshop introduces a number of such techniques that can be used across the curriculum. It will not turn you magically into a "drama teacher" - but it will give you sufficient confidence to introduce into your teaching a number of new approaches that will add interest to lessons, foster pupil engagement, encourage children to think and thus enhance their learning.
